Common questions

How does the free trial work?

The annual plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You are not charged during the trial, and cancelling before it ends costs you nothing. If you do not cancel, it renews automatically at the price shown on the paywall.

The monthly plan has no trial and is charged from the start. The button on the paywall tells you which one you are about to get.

A trial is available once per person. If you have subscribed to Journey before, you go straight to the paid plan.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside Journey:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
  3. Select Journey and tap Cancel Subscription.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, otherwise Apple charges the next term. You keep access until the paid period runs out.

I paid but the app still asks me to subscribe

Tap Restore purchases on the paywall. Journey has no accounts, so your subscription is tied to your Apple ID. Make sure you are signed in with the same one you bought it with.

I changed phones. Do I get my journal back?

Your journal is stored on the device, not on our servers. It transfers only if you restore the new phone from a backup of the old one. Your subscription transfers separately via Restore purchases.

How do I delete my data?

Delete individual entries in the app, or delete the app to remove everything. Recordings, transcripts and reflections all live in the app's own storage, and there is no server-side copy to request deletion of.

Transcription or reflections are not working

Both need an internet connection and an active subscription. If a recording does not transcribe, Journey retries automatically once you are back online. If it keeps failing, email us and mention roughly when it happened.

Is Journey a mental health service?

No. Journey is a journaling tool. It does not provide medical or mental-health advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are struggling, please talk to a professional. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
